The Tropical Doll Study Club of Lakeland, Florida was founded by Jeanne Niswonger in 1977.
Meetings are held on the first Sunday of the month at Saint David's Church on Edgewood Drive in Lakeland, September through June.
As a Chapter of Region 9 of the United Federation of Doll Clubs, Inc, the club is active in support for various charities.
The highlight of each meeting is the program presented by members or an invited special guest.
Our programs for 2007-2008 are as follows.
September 9 - Reports from attendees to various Doll Conventions held in the summer.
October 7 - "Kachina Dolls"
November 4 - "American Girl Doll Clothes"
December 2 - Christmas Party
January 6 - "American Girl Dolls"
February 3 - "Bleuette"
March 2 - "Hina Matsuri" the Japanese Doll Festival
March 8 - SHOW AND SALE - “DOLLS AND BEARS GO TO SCHOOL”

April 6 - “Setting the Scene: Displaying the Dolls We Love" Slide program on creating vignettes.
